4 Reasons Why Facebook Pages Loses Reach
Technology: 4 Reasons Why Facebook Pages Loses Reach

So, all the Facebook page administrators and content creators keep asking why are they losing reach? Why their stories / post’s seems to be untold to their fans over the news feed?

We all knew that Facebook has its own news feed algorithm called “EdgeRank” and has been evolved over time.

The big question ‘WHY?’, has already been answered by Facebook as they announce the major overhaul to its news feed which aims to “REDUCE STORIES” which people frequently reports a spam content and they don't want to see it anymore. But, to make it short Facebook came to answer it directly with the following:

Like Baiting

“Like-baiting” is when a page uses this technique explicitly asking fans / readers to Like, Comment and Share, and this is a good catch to gather up some additional distribution beyond how their post normally receives.

Well, a lot of pages have been using this strategy, technique to grow their reach. But really? Are you that desperate and MAD about growing Facebook reach? I also even see some religious pages use this technique, really? I am not taking this article to something religiously, but I know some of you also see some “Hit Like/Share if you Love Jesus | Keep Scrolling if you love Satan”.

Well, back to the topic Like-baiting is however effective to impact on businesses using a “call to action” to drive customers. We don’t know how Facebook will detect these whether it is applied to text or images.

E.G:

Frequently Circulated Content

Images, Videos or statuses that have been circulated frequently will be down-graded. Basically, this is contents or viral contents which appears on your page twice. Or contents that have already been circulated on. So Don’t just circulate what you see out there.

SPAM LINKS

These are stories which formatted to try and trick people to click through to a spammy website. These Links also mislead people by linking it to a page full of ads rather what the post claimed it has to be. Facebook has now been capable to detect  “spammy links” by measuring how this link was visited by people and how frequently it is shared and liked

Negative Feedbacks

One of the major changes introduced in the “EdgeRank Algorithm” is the Post Negative Feedback.

Post Negative Feedback is where users show how they are Negative about a page or a content on your page, surely this is how Facebook detects Negative Feedback for them hasn’t introduced a Dislike button still.
Negative Feedback is defined if a fan performs any of the given following option(s):

  • Unlike a Page
  • Report as spam
  • Hide a story
  • Hide all posts from a Page

Well, That's Everything Guys. Hope you create your own conclusions how to tweak up your page to grow your Facebook page reach.
